Inside This Issue:

Welcome to this week’s Employee Experience Magazine newsletter.

Every people strategy looks brilliant on a roadmap slide. The trouble starts when the manager who is meant to be coaching the team is covering two vacancies, and the board asks what the money achieved. So this week I have put together five questions to ask before your 2027 plan is signed off.

Sam Ross of Remote also asks what happens when you can hire from anywhere, and it may change where you look for talent. Plus wellbeing experiences from the directory, our NPS calculator and events on both sides of the Atlantic.

How much of your 2027 people strategy will change the way work gets done?

Most people strategies look convincing on a roadmap slide. Then the manager meant to hold more development conversations is covering two vacancies, and the board asks what the investment is achieving. I have used new CIPD and Gartner research to set out five questions to ask before your plan is signed off, plus a 30-minute test for your next strategy meeting.

What happens to your talent pool when you can hire anywhere?

AI has already changed where companies hire, according to 3,250 hiring leaders surveyed by Remote. Sam Ross, Chief Legal Officer at Remote, looks at what the company’s employment data shows about pay and skilled workers outside capital cities, and why the EU’s Right to Stay strategy matters to employers. He also explains what European businesses can do before any new law arrives.

TOOL OF THE WEEK

Surveyed your people and not sure how to score the answers?

Enter group totals, a count for each score or the raw scores. The calculator shows the Net Promoter Score or eNPS, every step of the working and the margin of error.
